CSCSW would like to recognize our Member of the Year, Ros Goldstein for Outstanding Contributions in her role as the San Diego District Coordinator (and just a  fabulous human being!)

Ros Goldstein worked as an RN for 20 years before changing to social work. Ros received her MSW from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne in 1980. She returned to Davis, CA and practiced as a nurse and social worker at an intensive day treatment program for children for a couple of years while obtaining hours toward her LCSW license. Afterwards, Ros moved to San Diego and decided to join CSCSW in 1985. She started working at Family Service Association, where she provided outpatient individual and group work. Ros then moved to work with Jewish Family Service, where she stayed for 29 and a half years. She provided a range of services, including individual, couple, and family therapy, family enrichment courses, and supervision of social work interns from San Diego State and USC. She also had a small private practice.

Despite later retiring, Ros continued to remain involved with CSCSW. Shortly after joining CSCSW, she became the editor of the San Diego District’s newsletter, “Connections”. Around 2002 she became co-chair of the local CSCSW Steering committee and a few years later joined the State Board for a 4 year period. In 2005/6 Ros then became the San Diego District Coordinator where she stayed for about twenty years. Ros has decided to retire from her role in October of 2023.

Thank you Ros, for your commitment to the social work field, your service to CSCSW, and for all you do to make this world a better, brighter place!
